What is botulinum toxin?

Botulinum toxin is a widely known choice in the treatment of lines. If no static lines have been formed on the face yet, by deactivating the muscles responsible for their creation, their full prevention is achieved.

The lines formed on the forehead, the brow, the eyes (crow’s feet), on the nose, the neck, when lifting the eyebrow and mouth corner, are eliminated.

When can I have my first botulinum toxin?

Since Botox acts mainly preventively, the younger the person is, the bigger the improvement achieved.  It must start as soon as the first lines are visible, so that we can avoid their becoming permanent. If the person is young and has a Botox treatment, then the lines may never appear theoretically.

How is it applied?

It is applied with small injections at the specific areas and results in the improvement, even the elimination, of the corresponding lines which concern us. Our specialized medical staff determines the dosage used each time and the exact spots where the treatment is to be applied for the best possible result.

Does it correct lines after they have been formed?

Botulinum toxin corrects lines already formed, but it can also act preventively. It is the ideal solution for the first visible lines, before they become static, as their total avoidance is achieved. In the cases of static lines, the results are impressive, since their depth is reduced and the skin becomes gradually smoother.

How often must it be done and how long does it last?

It is advisable to apply 2-3 times a year. If it is applied too often then the body gets used to it and neutralizes it faster. Its action lasts for 4-6 months.

Is the application painful?

The irritation is mainly momentary and limited to the points of application.

There have been no undesired effects observed, if the treatment is applied by experienced doctors. If they appear, they are temporary and mild and limited to bruising at the point of injection and subside in the next days.
